Injured/Unavailable: Peter Kwame Aizawa (knee surgery)
Injured/Unavailable: So Hirao (broken arm), Kodai Watanabe (fractured cheek).
PREDICTION: HOME WIN
JEF United Chiba were held to a 0-0 draw at Montedio Yamagata on Wednesday night in J2. After three wins in five to open their season, they have lost two and drawn one of their last three games and are showing the old inconsistency that J2-watchers know so well. But there are glimpses of a good team here, and a defence that is much improved, while up front, youngster Solomon Sakuragawa looks like he will score a few this season.
ThespaKusatsu Gunma went down to a 1-0 home defeat by Tochigi SC on Wednesday night in J2. They have now seen seven defeats in their eight games so far this season, while conceding 19 goals. They have scored just four goals, three of them coming in their one win. They must be thankful that there is no relegation this season.
JEF United Chiba must surely win this one, and can probably keep a clean sheet, also.
HEAD TO HEAD
The last time these two teams met was in J2 in 2017 when ThespaKusatsu Gunma won at home and drew away.
