PREDICTION: HOME WIN
Kyoto Sanga went behind before half time at Fagiano Okayama on Wednesday night in J2 before Jun Ando headed home from a corner just after the restart to give his team a point in a 1-1 draw. They felt confident enough to start both Peter Utaka and Takumi Miyayoshi on the bench in that game but the frustrating home defence meant they were needed, but they could not make the breakthrough. They have experience and youth in the squad and an exciting young manager and will surely improve their consistency as the season goes on.
A goal in each half – from Itsuki Oda and Stefan – gave Machida Zelvia a 2-0 away win at Matsumoto Yamaga on Wednesday night in J2. It was their second win running, although not against such challenging opposition and, in fact they have played against just one team in the current top six so far, so their position of 8th may be generous and I can't see them getting much higher as the tougher games come along. Nevertheless, they have only been beaten once this season and will be a tough nut to crack.
Kyoto Sanga have the 100% home record to look at and the much better squad that should be able to take care of Machida Zelvia here today.
HEAD TO HEAD
In J2 matches between these two teams last season Kyoto Sanga won at home and drew away.
