MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

---

New York City climbed into first place in the East last weekend with their come-from-behind 2-1 home triumph over the New England Revolution. They trailed after just two minutes but received a break when New England was shown a red card seven minutes later. Substitute Jesus Medina was man of the match as he equalized in the 70th minute and scored on a penalty kick just before the final whistle for the winner. It was New York's fifth straight league win and they now lead the East with 53 points, two ahead of Philadelphia and they also have a game in hand on the Union. The winner of the division will earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Toronto FC trounced Cincinnati 5-1 away last weekend to greatly boost their Eastern Conference playoff chances. They are now unbeaten in the past five league encounters with a pair of wins and three draws and have five wins, three draws and just two defeats in the past ten. Toronto built up a 5-0 lead by the 85th minute but the party was somewhat spoiled when Eriq Zavaleta was sent off with a red card in the 88th minute and Cincinnati scored on a stoppage-time penalty kick. The win lifted Toronto into a fifth-place at 41 points.

New York has lost just once in the league at home this year with nine wins and four draws. With first place in the conference at stake I'll go for a New York victory.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – HIGH

---

The teams have met 12 times including the playoffs and averaged 3.8 goals per game with eight matches producing at least three goals. I'm expecting another high-scoring encounter.

HEAD TO HEAD

Toronto won 4-0 at home in March.
