Injured/Unavailable: Ayase Ueda (foot joint)
MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
Oita Trinita went four goals down at Shimizu S-Pulse last weekend in the league – all four goals coming from set pieces (three corners and a free kick) as the defence left their goalkeeper exposed throughout the match. Two goals in the final minutes against a tired host made the scoreline seem less bad, but Kei Chinen and Yuya Takazawa's goals only disguised what was a terrible performance by the Oita Trinita defence. Three losses in-a-row has this team rocking a little.
Kashima Antlers took a deserved point in a 2-2 home draw with FC Tokyo last weekend in the league. Their goals came from Everaldo and Shoma Doi and they were unfortunate not to win the game in a late onslaught, the stats showing they had 21 goal attempts in the game! As I said previously, they are playing well, creating chances but have been unlucky on many occasions. Now, a win and a draw from their last three matches and an excellent performance that could have and should have got the win last weekend will have their confidence growing and they will continue to improve the results.
Kashima Antlers have the experience, the players and the momentum now, to more than take care of Oita trinita and continue to improve their season.
HEAD TO HEAD
In league matches between these two teams last season each team won their away game.
