PREDICTION: HOME WIN
An early goal from Hijiri Onaga gave Omiya Ardija a 1-0 win at Zweigen Kanazawa on Wednesday night in J2. Their fourth1-0 win of the 2020 season (and their two losses have also been 1-0!). Both of their losses were away and they command a 100% three-win home record with three clean sheets to boast about also. They will be very hard to beat, especially at home. A win here over the team just below them in 3rd place would give them a seven-point cushion for Avispa Fukuoka, so there will be high motivation to take this one.
Substitute Kennedy Egbus Mikuni scored less than two minutes after coming on as an 80th minute substitute to give Avispa Fukuoka a 1-1 draw against FC Ehime on Wednesday night in J2. They have three wins and a draw in their last four matches but a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to FC Ehime will have dented their confidence a little. They will know that this game will be a lot harder.
These two teams have scored just 15 goals between them in 16 games, while they have conceded (Omiya Ardija three, Avispa Fukuoka six) just nine combined. Just 24 goals in their 16 matches in total, and surely the home team have the advantage and can win this.
HEAD TO HEAD
In J2 matches between these two teams last season Omiya Ardija won at home and drew away.
