Match Time:7/1/2020 01:00 Wednesday（GMT+8）
Reading centre-back Matt Miazga is suspended after he was sent off for an altercation with Tom Lawrence. Michael Olise picked up a knock in that game and could miss out here.
Brentford have two absentees in striker Nikos Karelis and winger Sergi Canos.
Suspended: Matt Miazga
Doubtful: Michael Olise (knock)
Injured/Unavailable: Lucas Boye (virus), Andy Yiadom (unknown), Lucas Joao (hamstring)
Injured/Unavailable: Nikos Karelis (knee), Sergi Canos (unknown)
MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
Reading conceded two goals in quick succession before half-time against Derby in a period that killed off any chance of a positive result. Mark Bowen’s men have been poor since returning from the break, claiming just one point from two winnable fixtures against Stoke and Derby.
Brentford built on their 2-0 win against fellow promotion contenders Fulham with an equally valuable 1-0 home win against a West Bromwich side that began the weekend at the top of the league. Thomas Frank’s men have now won three league games in a row and trail West Bromwich by just five points with seven games still left to play.
This should be a fairly routine victory for Brentford following two impressive results.
SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – BRENTFORD
Brentford opened the scoring after just 16 minutes against a much stronger West Bromwich side and I expect them to start fast here against Reading. The hosts entered half-time against Derby trailing 2-0 and will struggle to breach a Brentford defence that has kept three consecutive clean sheets.
HEAD TO HEAD
Brentford have lost just one of their last five league games against Reading.
