Sergio Escudero is suspended for Tochigi SC after a red card on Wednesday night but they have no injury problems.
Ryosuke Kojima is Albirex Niigata's only injury problem.
Suspended: Sergio Escudero (one game)
Injured/Unavailable: Ryosuke Kojima (broken leg).
A Junya Osaki goal gave Tochigi SC the 1-0 away win at ThespaKusatsu Gunma last Wednesday night in J2. The goal came in the 1st half before Sergio Escudero saw a straight red card for a rash tackle with over 20 minutes to go, but the famed Tochigi SC defence held out for the 1-0 win. They are picking up where they left off last season with three 1-0 wins so far in 2020 (and three 1-0 defeats!).
A 93rd minute equaliser from Arata Watanabe gave Albirex Niigata a point in a 1-1 away draw at Tokyo Verdy on Wednesday night in J2. As I suggested already earlier this season, Albirex Niigata needed to tighten up a defence that conceded 11 goals in four games after the restart. This they seem to have done, but at the expense of their attack that had scored 13 goals in the opening five matches of the campaign. Two 1-1 draws and a 1-0 win in their last three games would suggest the job is done at the back, and up against a very efficient home defence goals will be hard to come by again.
Two teams that have been defending well but scoring little in recent games. I expect a low-scoring draw here. 0-0, or 1-1.
HEAD TO HEAD
In J2 matches between these two teams last season each team won their home game.
