MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
It's too little too late for Vancouver, but they are now unbeaten in their last three league games with two wins and a draw following their 4-3 away upset over the LA Galaxy last weekend. Doneil Henry, Theo Blair and Tosaint Ricketts scored for Vancouver with Michael Chirinos notching the winner just before the final whistle. Vancouver took the lead three times and coughed it up three times before sealing the points with the late winner. They now have 34 points from eight wins, ten draws and 15 losses while being outscored 58-37and remain in last place in the West with no chance at making the playoffs and are ranked second worst at home with 20 of 38 points.
Real Salt Lake clinched a Western Conference playoff spot last weekend with a 2-1 home conquest over Houston. Corey Baird gave them the lead after just 34 seconds but Houston pulled level in the 34th minute. Jefferson Savarino then netted the winner in the 75th minute. Real now has 50 points and occupies fifth spot in the division.
Real could move up the table and gain a home playoff game with a win so I expect them to put in a good effort and take three points.
SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – LOW
The teams have averaged 2.3 goals per game in 21 meetings and with Vancouver scoring just 16 home goals I expect a low-scoring encounter.
HEAD TO HEAD
Real triumphed 1-0 at home earlier this season and each side has two wins and two defeats in the last four league clashes.
Nowgoal Prediction: Real take all three points
