Injured/Unavailable: Isaac Cuenca (knee surgery), Simao Mate (knee surgery)
Doubtful: Teruhito Nakagawa, Erik
Injured/Unavailable: Park Il-gyu (fractured hand), Yuki Saneto (hamstring), Marcos Junior (thigh strain),
MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
Vegalta Sendai went down 5-1 at Kashiwa Reysol last weekend in the league. Takuma Nishimura scored their only goal in the thrashing. They are really missing the steadying influence and general captaincy on the field of Simao Mate. Their only goal in a thrashing came from a scramble in the goalmouth and they never really looked like scoring. They will have it tough against a hurt visitor here.
Yokohama F.Marinos were schooled in possession football and movement – a system they won the 2019 J1 championship with – by unfancied Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo last weekend in the league. Jun Amano gave them the lead before the home team hit back to win 3-1. Injuries to key players, especially up front, is hurting them and this week it was announced that Keita Endo would be moving overseas in the next week. They have a deep squad but they need to get back to working as a team.
Yokohama F.Marinos may be struggling for results, but they have a deeper squad than their hosts who seem to be in even worse form. An away win expected.
HEAD TO HEAD
In league matches between these two teams last season Yokohama F.Marinos won at home and drew away on the way to winning the championship.
