PREDICTION: HOME WIN
Shusuke Ota and Riki Matsuda gave Ventforet Kofu the lead twice at Mito HollyHock on Wednesday night in J2 but they were pegged back both time and conceded a 91st minute goal to end the game at 2-2. They have lost just once this season so far, but have four draws and need to concentrate on not conceding goals to win games. Having said that things have improved in the last three games with two home wins and an away draw. I expect a slow, continual improvement.
Kota Kawano scored a 79th minute equaliser to give Renofa Yamaguchi some hope on Wednesday night in J2 before their hosts – J2 toppers V-Varen Nagasaki scored the late winner to end the game 2-1 to the away team. Five defeats in their last six games and 14 goals conceded, the only win they have was a 4-1 against FC Ryukyu, who were (and still are) struggling at the bottom of J2. They have a lot of work to do if they are to start improving results.
Ventforet Kofu are getting reasonable results they have won their last three home games, and this will be another victory.
HEAD TO HEAD
In J2 matches between these two teams last season each team won their away game.
